December 2021 ~ Peer relationships play a central role in adolescent development. They help build character and can be an important source of emotional support. Parental guidance including ongoing conversations around friendships, romantic relationships, consent and the ways teens communicate (in person and online) is critical to shaping the values and beliefs that support the development of healthy and fulfilling relationships.
