Students who attended the Building Bridges Conference on April 29, 2005 give this advice to other students:

• If you are going to a website, be sure you don't give personal information and check to make sure it is believable.
• Don't believe everything you see.
• Don't give away personal information. Make up a email address but not with your real name.
• Be careful who you trust online.
• Not everything online is real. Check out reference books in the library and other sources.
• Even though there is a copyright date it's not necessarily true.
• Don't go on unfamiliar sites.
• Have a special internet name.
• Check out the truth of sites. Read the fine print and check out other sources.
• Try more person to person contact with friends but be sure to not meet with strangers.
• Giving out your friend’s personal information online is a really bad thing to do, as it could put them at risk. Look after and respect your friends while you are online.
